ACTIVITIES OF BUCP

BUCP organises and coordinates the contacts between the members and with external bodies involved in or influencing the activities of the members.

Following its statutory objectives, BUCP has close contacts with:

the Belgian Institute for Standardisation (IBN), owner of the BENOR mark, a collective voluntary mark of conformity with standards and equivalent normative documents
the Belgian Union for technical approval in construction (UBAtc) (*) which issues the technical approvals (ATG) and organises the corresponding certification of conformity under the ATG mark
the Federal Public Service Economy, SMEs, Self-employed and Energy - Quality in Construction - Approval and Specifications, which takes care of notification of the Belgian certification bodies, inspection bodies and testing laboratories that are active within the CE attestation.
BELAC (formerly BELCERT, BELTEST and OBE) which manage the accreditation of certification bodies, inspection bodies, testing laboratories and calibration bodies.

BUCP represents its members in different external bodies, among others:

the “Advisory Group of Notified Bodies for the Construction Products Directive” (NB-CPD), which is an advisory group of bodies that were notified by the EU member states for CE attestation in the scope of the Construction Products Directive and which was created on the initiative of the European Commission
the Technical Construction Commission, which is in charge of implementing the Construction Products Directive in Belgium, in accordance with the Royal Decree of 1998.08.19.
